Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is a British-American musician and sitarist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and first female recipient. Alongside nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the first musician of Indian origin to perform during the ceremony live. Anoushka Shankar is one of India's rising stars in the sitar. She is the student and child of Ravi Shankar. Born in London, she spent the first few years of her life moving between London as well as New Delhi. She gave her debut performance in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. Later she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Her career as a performer and recorder is quite impressive, in spite of her young age. She is often seen performing alongside her father and has done so for quite a number of years. The singer made Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning album Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years following her debut solo album. Alongside performing at many of the biggest venues and venues, she also has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka's career goes beyond the realm of music. Anoushka Shakar, born in England lived the majority of her time between London Delhi. When she moved to California she finished high school. She started learning to play the guitar at age 9 and played the sitar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the birth of her father in Delhi just four years after. Anoushka, who accompanied her father during his world tour, gained an impressive quantity of knowledge. In her teenage years she played at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. She was the youngest woman to win the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament as recognition of her musical talent and artistic ability in music and the Asian Arts.
