Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose tales of youthful heartache earned her widespread recognition in the beginning of the 21st century. Swift started to exhibit an enthusiasm for the industry of music at a young age. Swift's career grew rapidly beyond the roles of children's entertainers to her first public appearance in the presence of thousands. She was age 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. next year, she began playing guitar and began to write songs. Drawing inspiration from country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of being a tween and feeling alienated. In the year 13 Swift's parents sold their farm in Pennsylvania and moved into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could devote more of her time to wooing labels from the country within the vicinity of Nashville.
